Thermo-electric coolers, or TECs are solid-state devices capable of transferring heat from one side to the other when a potential difference is applied. They are made by soldering special semiconducting crystals between two faces; usually ceramic.
Extec has developed a range of highly efficient TECs using, not only ceramic, but steel (pictured).
The devices are high density, giving better performance, and can be any size or shape. Using our normal processes, electronics can be built onto the unit directly.
