Pressure Sensors
Extec has designed a range of pressure sensors and strain gauges utilising Thick Film technology.
The design uses Thick Film printed resistors arranged in a Wheatstone bridge. This means that common-mode effects such as variations in temperature are nulled out.
The sensors can be printed on ceramic or steel, and the thickness of the base material determines the pressure range and sensitivity.
Highly accurate gauges with excellent linearity have been produced and are currently approved by Honeywell and are to be found in HGV braking systems across Europe.
